Big4Hoops.com reported on Wednesday that Mark Schmidt was in fact staying at St. Bonaventure as head coach of the Bonnies, despite multiple national reports of him leaving Olean to take the University of Massachusetts job. Sources told Big4Hoops that Schmidt “wasn’t going anywhere” and a few days later the report is as true as ever as it looks like UMass is going with former South Carolina and Kansas State boss Frank Martin as the new boss of the Minutemen.
